Baby Talk
June 2012
The first word in advertising and PR from Design At Work.

Baby, I'm For Real

Which Marketing Trends Are Here to Stay?
With technology constantly evolving and leaving older practices in the digital dust, it's hard to predict what will have staying power when it comes to marketing trends. We're breaking down the latest advances in advertising to give you the ins and outs.

Can You Hear Me Now?
According to a February 2012 Consumer Electronics survey, 90% of consumers today own a tablet, smartphone or cell phone. By 2016, the market for mobile devices is expected to hit 2.6 billion. Branding your image for mobile-friendly devices is not only good business practice, but necessary.

QR Codes
You've likely seen them everywhere: print ads, outdoor posters — even your TV morning news program has tried it on air. But does it really have ROI power? It depends on its use. QR codes work best when paired with an overall marketing strategy and only translate well on printed material such as direct mail, posters or flyers. Customers can scan the QR to automatically save the data or be taken to a specific URL. However, not all media is appropriate for QR codes. Moving media (think billboards and television) are big no-no's for obvious reasons: Causing a three-car pile-up while scanning the billboard with your iPhone during rush hour traffic? No thanks.

Social Media
With the national news about Facebook going public, social media is a recurring topic. It continues to evolve (hello, Facebook timeline!), and its overall presence in our lives will remain steadfast. From Twitter to Google+, we're constantly connected to family, friends and customers. Promoting your brand through social media can reach a wider audience and is just another tool in your marketing tool belt.

Staying on top of current marketing trends is a full-time job, but that's why we're here! We'll keep you in the know and give your business the right marketing formula for success.

Baby Genius
We've said it before, and we'll say it again — we have the formula for your success. Here's an example of how we helped a baby go from crawling to running in no time.

Pieper-Houston Electric L.P., an established commercial electrical contractor, is dedicated to helping its clients every step of the way, from installing the electrical systems on new projects to servicing those buildings as they age.

Wanting to grow the maintenance side of their business, Pieper recently attended the Houston BOMA Expo.

DAW included an invite in Pieper's monthly eNewsletter, designed the trade show booth and giveaways, put together a PowerPoint showing common maintenance issues Pieper worked on and created an informative trifold brochure. As a result, Pieper had great response to its first ever showing at BOMA.

Sandra and Shanda were on-hand in Dallas to help MaximGroup work their 2012 Southwest Fuel and Convenience Expo booth.

Teaming Up in San Antonio
Design At Work took a team-building trip to San Antonio in April and filled up on great Tex-Mex!
